Sienna is a chic utility jacket inspired by vintage French workwear. Designed for hard-wearing use by makers and artists, it functions as both stylish outerwear and a highly practical layer for use inside the studio.

With a slightly dropped shoulder, Sienna features a crisp notched collar which can be worn buttoned at the neck with an optional snap button. It is unlined and finished with durable seams. Views A & B feature deep hip pockets, a hidden breast pocket and waist-cinching belt with D ring closure that can be worn closed, or open by looping the belt in the opposite direction; View A hits at mid-thigh and View B ends at upper thigh. View C is a short chore jacket with button closure, optional sleeve pockets and a back button placket.

Looking for D-rings? We have some in stock!

An Outstanding Pattern

This is one of those truly exceptional patterns. The drafting is fabulous, the drawings crystal clear and the instructions are meticulously done. I love everything about the view I made (B) and will definitely be using this pattern, in one form or another, multiple times. For this version, I used a treated, tightly woven black watch plaid cotton. It is a treat to use a pattern that is so well done. Thank you!!

Super Sienna

I just finished making the long Sienna jacket out of a cream colored stretch denim. I love it!! Made a size 12 with no alterations. I just added shoulder pads to it because my shoulders are very narrow. I now plan to make another pair of ginger jeans in the same fabric. I think I will modify the pattern slightly and make a straight leg version of the skinny jean.

Love My First One, Working on Second

This pattern attracted me as soon as it came out. I had some heavy dark blue stretch denim so I almost immediately went to work on view B. The pattern was fabulous to put together, a little complicated but the instructions were good. I wear that coat a lot, even took it to Sequoia in December. I’ve already started on a second coat (view C) in a lightweight gray wool which I’m lengthening and lining for our PNW weather - 30’s, 40’s, 50’s so not sub-zero. The buttons down the back drew my interest....such a great detail that I hadn’t seen on a coat before. Though I’m no expert, I’ve made a lot of coats and I think this pattern could be sewn by someone with good basic knowledge of sewing terms. I’m very happy with the pattern & the resulting coat!

Lovely short jacket

I made the short jacket out of a soft Japanese denim. It's beautiful and I love the button detail on the back vent. The instructions for the collar, lapel and facing were hard to follow, and I tinkered quite a bit with it to get it perfect, and kind of ignored the directions given. I have a lot of experience sewing and could do this. I did not make the pockets on the sleeves as I wanted a smooth look. It would be a nice addition to the fabric guidelines if you suggest the weight of the interfacing. I used a medium weight, and it's okay, but it may be nicer with a lighter weight to match the super softness of the denim I used.
Thanks for this one.

Great Pattern

So far, so good. Happy that what I might not understand in the directions has a sew along view to solidify everything. The directions however are very well written. I look forward to trying something else after this.
Fit seems good as well. Not quite done yet.

Just get this pattern

Thanks Closet Case Patterns, yet another winning design. This is exactly my style, gender neutral, beautifully drafted and classic. The muslin was fitted, carefully taken apart and is my forever pattern.
