Nothing says summer elegance quite as well as a dramatic caftan. Charlie is a fresh take on this warm weather staple.

All versions feature a deep V neckline, short dolman sleeves, inset center panel and roomy pockets. View A is modern and architectural with striking pleats beneath the bust. For a softer, more romantic dress, Views B & C feature a gently gathered bodice with an optional waist tie for a figure-skimming silhouette in two skirt lengths. You may also choose between a dramatically wide sleeve, or one slightly higher cut for more coverage.

Charlie is also available as a PDF download.

Model notes: Our model is 5'-9" and is wearing a size 10.

Well Thought Out Pattern

I enjoyed working with your Charlie Caftan pattern. It was accurate and the instructions were clear. I'm not sure my 8th grade Home Ec teacher would approve my result, but the pattern was great to work with.

Very nice pattern, easy to follow.

Very nice pattern, easy to follow. I’ve only made the pants so far, but I’ve done two of them. The first pair was from a thrifted sheet, and the second one in cozy flannel. I love the fit. I love the style and they come together very quickly, even though I’m not the greatest of sewists!

I would say be sure to check the sizing and your measurements, because if I go shopping I wear a six or maybe an eight, sometimes even a four. For this pattern I measured out at a 12. But the fit is perfect, so do the measuring….

If anyone reading this has a suggestion for where to get good 1 1/2 inch elastic, I would love to hear it. The first one I tried was too flexible, and the second one I did was a bit too stiff. Would like something in between… Suggestions please!

Carolyn Pajama Pattern

It has been years since I sewed clothes. However, my granddaughter found your pattern online, loved it and asked 'mamie' if I would make them for her. I have now completed the top and have started on the bottoms. The hardest part was fitting the collar correctly; but Ta-Da! Success! Once the bottoms are completed, I will forward a photo. The instructions were fairly simple to understand and I will definately check your site the next time she has a special request.

Relax in style

I live in the desert of Arizona, and this caftan has really helped me stay cool. Next time I will make the neck a bit higher, but other then that it's perfect. Your service was punctual and the directions were fine.
I love this!
Thanks again.

I have not made the pajamas yet. The pattern and instructions are very thorough and I am looking forward to making them.
