Nettie Dress & Bodysuit Pattern
- FABRIC & SUPPLIES
Nettie is a quick and easy to make wardrobe staple. Close fitting with high cut arms, she can be made into a knit dress or a bodysuit. This pattern is infinitely customizable with a choice of 3 sleeve lengths, 2 neckline and 3 back variations.
Go modest with a bateau neckline or show off some skin with a scoop neck and low back version. The bodysuit variation has a low cut bum to prevent annoying panty lines, along with an optional snap crotch so you won’t have to get naked to use the ladies’ room. The leg and neck openings are finished with knit bands, with an optional snap crotch or supportive shelf bra.
Nettie is available as an instant gratification PDF only. See our guide to printing & assembling PDF files here. Our meticulously written and easy to follow instructions are designed to give everyone beautiful results regardless of skill level.
4-way stretch fabrics with good recovery and at least 50% crosswise stretch; cotton-lycra and lycra are ideal. 2-way stretch fabrics such as ponte are only recommended for the dress variation, as long as they also stretch at least 50%.
A 10” square scrap of lining fabric like rayon bemberg or silk charmeuse for the optional snap crotch.

From the Closet Case Patterns Community
This was the first of my CC purchases, and I have only made the body suit so far. There are endless variations, and since the first went together so nicely, there will definitely be more. I loved the suggestion and the instructions for the optional shelf bra. This option creates just enough coverage to camoflage a seamed bra under a knit garment. It's brilliant!
