This is the first pair of jeans I've made and I wish I could show you all a picture but they are a bit too tight. The muslin I made was too baggy so I did some adjustments and used my good fabric and then they were too tight. Overall I love the jeans and will make more only in the correct size.
I'm teaching a jeans class soon and selected the Ginger jeans as a choice for the class participants. I've made two pair in preparation for the class and must say I do love them. The instructions are clear, helpful and include all those little things you need to know about when you make jeans. I know the class is going to love the pattern too!
I’ve been sewing for about three years and have been unable to move past the “advanced beginner” level. I’ve been wanting to up my sewing game, but I have great difficulty reading and understanding sewing directions. I’m definitely a visual learner. Enter the Ginger Jeans online course! It’s exactly what I needed for success.. I was able to complete a beautiful pair of jeans without even opening the directions. The are some small changes I will make next time, but hey...practice makes perfect! Thanks Closet Case for a great online course!
Jeans once were on my list of “never sew” items. So I settled for ill fitting pants. On a whim, after a particularly unpleasant jeans shopping trip I decided to give it a go. I’m so happy I did. After perfecting fit with a test muslin I made jeans that fit me well. No more hiking up. No more too short rise. No more gappy waist. I’m a convert. The directions are easy to follow and understand. I do recommend ordering the buttons and rivets from Closet Case. Worth the cost.
I haven't ise the pattern yet, but just a look and I love it. The envelope, the pamphlet, the illustration art are so beautiful. Now I need a good time to sew a great looking jean.
Pattern arrived earlier than anticipated and is easy to assemble. Pants fit great and I plan on making many more.
