Inspired by vintage work-wear, Jenny is a modern interpretation of classic overalls and wide leg trousers with an ultra-high rise, sleek, functional details and a comfortable all-day-long fit.

Make a more sophisticated version of dungarees with our well-proportioned bib and optional utility pocket, or omit the bib entirely and make a pair of wide-legged cropped pants, full-length pants or shorts. Optional details abound; mix and match the curved slash front pockets, faux fly front, single or double zipper waistband and rounded back patch pockets. To personalize even further, go all out with high contrast topstitching, or take a more minimalist approach for a clean, elegant finish.

Don't forget to download our free pattern expansion to make a button front Jenny with utility pockets!

Jenny is also available as a beautifully printed pattern. This is an instant gratification PDF download available in both print-at-home and copy shop formats. See our guide to printing & assembling PDF files here

Cute

Challenging pattern, learned a lot, cute overalls!

Great shaping, needs length.

The pattern arrived earlier than expected, and has excellently clear cut directions. The shape through hip and bust is excellent (so nice and so rare for high sides to both exist and accommodate curvature), and there are many ways to easily adjust the straps for extra kick. It needs serious length adjustments in the leg, though. Make it up in muslin or canvas, take measurements of exactly how it needs adjustment in the leg for you, and take it apart to swap out for adjusted muslin pattern pieces. After that, it will be perfect for years to come. ...actually, you'll probably never find another like this one, so snap it up while it's available.

Cute to classy

I’ve just finished my first muslin of the Jenny Overalls, and had I chosen better fabric for itthem, they totally would have wearable. Very minor adjustments to make for the ‘real’ fabric, and now I’m excited to make not only the overalls, but also some fancier trousers. Great instructions; I’m sure this will be a go-to!

Yes we Can!

So, admittedly, it took me a solid 3 months to make my lil Jenny short-veralls but that's all on me because I sew for a living and at the end of the day have a hard time motivating myself to make fun projects for myself. That being said I FINALLY sat down to make these and it the pattern is so beautifully drafted and written that it doesn't feel like you are trying to follow some clunky pattern. I could have easily gotten this done in a quick weekend. Including cutting -which I find to be the worst part. I love them. BUY THIS PATTERN. MAKE YOUR OVERALLS AND MAKE SOME MORE. BECAUSE THEY ARE SO CUTIE!!!!

Elizabeth, you made our day! So happy you like this pattern :)

Well drafted pattern!

When a client wanted pointe overalls with her hand painted silk for a fashion show, Pattern Review gave this pattern a great review. I appreciated this well sized and well drafted pattern. The directions were clear and all the pattern pieces matched up - a joy to sew! I made a few changes for the client to make them more like Meryl Streep’s in Mama Mia.

These are truly gorgeous Kathleen! Bravo!

Great design, challenging

I love the final product...the directions were a little hard to understand but all in all, if you’re an experienced sewer you’ll do fine. One of the waistbands is labeled wrong so I did end up using a little more fabric than anticipated. Choose your fabric wisely...I wish I had chosen a heavier weight so they lay smoother. I’m probably going to make the wide leg pants for fall in a thicker material.
