Not happy

The pattern instructions are difficult to follow. Did not match up with illustrations. Did not make sense. Illustrations differed from one to the other. Took me four hours to figure out how to put the pockets in. Two hours on the zipper. Had to be ripped out completely at least once. I’ve made wedding dresses, prom dresses, christening Dresses, so I know what I’m doing when it comes to sewing. Other reviewer’s commented how easy it was to do at a workshop. Probably because they had someone who already made these pants explaining the process. Rather than trying to follow the written instructions. Now that they’re finally finished they do look nice. But it certainly was not worth the time and effort it took to make this pair of jeans.

I did it!

The Ginger pattern is the bomb! I made the high rise view and sailed through the pattern. For years, a fly front has intimidated the daylights out of me and Ginger's directions made it a cinch. I made the first pair out of a less expensive stretch denim sourced locally because I thought it would be more of a "muslin". I wore them to work yesterday and the gals did not believe I made them myself. I will make a couple of fit tweaks on the pattern the next time I make them, but these are my new favorite jeans.

Love them!

They were my first pair of jeans and really fun to make!

Love the jeans!

I’ve made 2 pairs and love them! I’m going to adapt the pattern to fit my guy now.

I’ve made 5 so far with 2 more cut out.

I was intimidated by sewing jeans but after many good reviews and recommendations I decided to jump in. So far I’ve made this pattern 5 times most recently as knee length shorts. I love the instructions and recommend fitting adjustment tutorials. With each pair I’ve tweaked the fit until its pretty much perfect. I can’t stand ready to wear jeans now. Thanks for a great pattern and instructions!

These jeans fit right out of the box with no adjustments. The instructions were really easy to follow, and I was able to finish them in about a weeks worth of newborn naptimes I love them so much I immediately started on a pair of ginger flares.
